Ernest Bennett started to manufacture TCT circular sawblades in 1968. At that time all tips were put on by hand and ground individually on manual grinding machines. Since then the machinery has progressed to CNC control with the ever increasing use of computers. Each year the company maintains a high capital investment in the latest technology to keep it at the forefront of the industry.

Circular sawblades are used in many industries for cutting materials from softwoods to steel ingots. The saw bodies are programmed on CAD/CAM to customers’ particular requirements before being profiled on or own laser cutter. Automatic tipping and the latest CNC grinders enable us to give short delivery times on all types of sawblades ranging from 75mm to 1400mm diameter.

Ernest Bennett noise reduced sawblades, the ‘Q’ and ‘XQ’, give exceptional noise reduction at the most damaging frequencies of 500 Hertz to 8000 Hertz. The picture to the right demonstrates the sidegrinding of Carbide Tips.

The reductions have been measured at up to 8 dB(A) and are approved by the Health and Safety Executive in the UK as an effective tool against noise.

TCT Ferrous Cutting - As major suppliers of TCT steel cutting sawblades to the UK steel industry, our expertise enables us to offer the customer a complete package of designing, manufacturing and servicing of sawblades, up to 1350mm diameter for cutting tubes, billets and bars.

High Speed Steel Saws - Ernest Bennett supply a range of HSS sawblades for cut-off machines incorporating the latest developments in cutting geometries and surface treatments. Our expertise and service will make it possible to choose the sawblade most suitable for the application.

Segmental Saws - Segmental blades have been designed to meet the requirements of present day high speed cold saws. The segments are made from specially heat-treated high speed steel and form a closed ring around the saw plate. The saw plates are hardened and tempered to maintain accuracy throughout the working life of the saw.

Friction Saws - Wolferal friction saw blades are made of high quality special steels and are hardened in accordance with the latest technical findings. They have milled special teeth and are hollow ground on both sides on modern precision grinding machines. All wolferal blades are piece-by-piece examined for hardness, side run-out and concentricity. They can be mounted on all high speed machines at recommended peripheral cutting speeds of 80-125 meters per second.
